People’s Republic of China, or China, is the most populous country in the world with over 1.3 billion people and the fourth largest by territory. Its largest city is Shanghai and the capital is Beijing.

The official language is Chinese.

Economy

Nature resources, the numerous workforce and the the country’s policy are the core of the so-called “Chinese economic miracle”, which puts China in the number 1 spot for GDP and 2nd for size of economy. China is the World’s largest exporter and the second largest importer. Main industries in China are agriculture and manufacture. Tourism is also very well-developed, as China is ranked 4th in the world in that indicator.

Technologically is also among the global leaders, both in production and exports, in addition, almost every well-known large-scale blue-chup companies have their production outsourced to China. This in turn speaks volumes about China’s advancement, because trust is not easily won, especially on the international stage.

The textile industry is an important sector for China and, as is the case with technology companies, many leaders in the textile industry have their production outsourced to China.

Technologies and textile contribute probably the biggest share to the Chinese GDP.

There are more than 2500 higher education institutions in China, which are split into 4 areas – universities, professional colleges, Adult HEI’s and independent institutions.

There are both state- and private-owned institutions.

In most Chinese universities the language of instruction is Chinese, however in order to attract more international students, there are campuses of international universities being opened. In that way the number of Bachelor and Master programmes taught in English is increasing every year.

The most preferred programmes are Chinese philology, Asian studies, International Business.
