Pay attention to the Аcademy Profession Degree, which is mostly (but not solely) taught at University Colleges. This is a program, which is only studied for two years and is not equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, which is studied between 3 and 4 years in Denmark. Аcademy Profession Degree may be transformed into a Bachelor’s degree after it has been supplemented by a Top-up degree, which is offered by many universities in Europe.

Teaching Methods. Structuring Of Programs

Bachelor’s programs: 3-4 yrs.

Master’s programs: 2 yrs.

Denmark offers over 350 programs in English.

Students play a major role in the Danish teaching methods, as students are encouraged to express their opinion by questioning and criticizing what is communicated by instructors. Active involvement of students during classes is thus promoted, instead of just passive listening.

The main focus of the Danish educational system is exploration and teamwork by students on a given project. Thus, creative thinking and exploration of cases and situations from the real world is promoted.

Further, most universities in Denmark partner with local and international companies, in view of both the studies and project objectives of their students, as well as to secure internships.

International Students – Stats

Over 60 different nationalities study in Denmark. They hail mostly from the USA, Australia, China, and Japan, as well as from nearer European countries, such as Germany, England, Norway, France, Austria, and the Netherlands. In Eastern European countries, such as Lithuania and Romania, Denmark turns out to be one of the most common choices of their would-be students. Overall, international students in Denmark account for just around 10% of the total number of students or some 24 000, according to 2016 data, which is relatively far behind the figures reported for Austria, Germany, or UK. According to data of the University of Copenhagen, the most esteemed Danish university, more female students have been admitted in recent years than male ones, at a ratio of 62% women to 38% men.
