Israel

Israel is an Asian country, situated in the south-eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea, but politically accepted as European. With its 8.5 million inhabitants Israel is ranked 96th in the world in terms of population. The capital city is the largest one, Jerusalem. The official language is Hebrew.

Israel is the only Jewish country in the world.

Economy

Israel has a well-developed market economy and ranks 34th in the world in terms of GDP per capita. Agriculture is a strongly performing sector. Israel is an exporter of fruit, vegetables, military equipment, hardware, software, and processed diamonds. Religious tourism is one of the most important sectors, as it bring in around 3 million tourists yearly.

Universities

In Israel there are two types of Higher Education Institutions. 9 Universities and 68 Colleges. The main difference being that in the Universities you can achieve all grades in education.

Israeli higher education institutions offer a huge range of programmes and courses, some universities let you choose your syllabus yourself, according to your desires.

Master programmes usually include individual research, a course paper or a combination of both.

International Students

Israel is a very attractive destination for international students as it is an international center for large-scale research in different fields, such as engineering, theology and political studies. International students in Israel are estimated at around 10 000, studying in various programmes taught entirely in English.

Israel is probably one of the most international countries in the world. Everyone is welcome there and is free to practice their own religion, either Christianity or Islam.

Tuition for Bachelor’s degree ranges between $9 000 and $15 000, while for Master’s degree they start from $10 000, reaching up to $30 000. Fortunately, international students are eligible for student financing shaped up as a scholarship – government scholarship or university scholarship.

In order to study in Israel you will need a student visa and an international health insurance. Unfortunately, having the student visa does not entitle you to work.

Programmes

Israeli universities offer a large number of programmes taught entirely in English. All the 61 higher education institutions offer more than 300 programmes in English, which are split into 10 big study fields. You can enroll in their superb science and technology programmes, while others are more specific, such as Hebrew, Religion and Middle East studies.
